Is it really HO scale? Judging from the name (americaN) and the pins' size (below), it rather looks like N scale, does it not?...

Harald, comment dont opérés les réseaux modulaires ? Utilisez-vous un quelconque système pour simuler les opérations ou s'agit-il simplement de trains qui circulent au gré des envies des modélistes ?

Harald, could you please inform us about the operation of these huge layouts ? Are they operated with some sort of car routing system or is it only trains running from here to there ?

Moin Robert

Sorry - to difficult to answer in french for me

Timetable - fast clock - dispatcher - train-order - car-cards - freight-cards - 2-way radio sets - and so on are used.
As owner of a station / industrie you have to oder not loaded cars for shipping freights produced in the industries
on your modules. Loaded cars are shipped to customers along the track - or are ending in one of the stageyards.

Mostly the FREMO US- H0 layouts are operated like the americaN layouts.
http://www.fremo-net.eu/index.php?id=168&L=6

Some informations in french concerning the FREMO-USA-H0 freight systhem
http://www.fremo-net.eu/index.php?id=frachtsystemh0-usa&L=10

D´autres informations en francais - Southwest Division.
http://www.fremo-net.eu/index.php?id=southwest-division&L=10

As members of the US-Gruppe-Nord we use the same freight-systhem as does the south-west division.

Tschuess / salut

Harald

for traffic control, our group established TWC (Track Warrant Control) at the FREMO in 2005: http://www.america-n.de/Activities/Hochdorf2005/Hochdorf2005.htm

For car forwarding we use the traditional carcards and waybills. For the waybills we established a system to sort a complete week prior to a meeting and to use the waybills again at other meetings and different layouts.

We do not use a fast clock or a timetable. We just dispatch the trains in a given sequence.

For more information look at our standard: http://www.fremo-net.eu/uploads/media/americaN-Standard_02.pdf

BTW: The module "Pacific Highway and Lennox Avenue" is according to the americaN industries recommendation which allows for narrower modules and not centered track. There is also no roadbed. Look at page 3 for a drawing: http://www.fremo-net.eu/uploads/media/americaN-industries.pdf
